Do a Quick Three-Minute Review
Ask students to close their books and look at the poster
with you. Do a simple 'point and say' review. Begin
by asking, 'Can you remember
?' and then pointing
to an item on the poster. Students call out the word
in English. In the beginning, you can do the pointing,
but kids love it if you call on them to point. Choose
the students who are shy or who are having more difficulty
with English to make them feel especially important.
'Simon Says Say the Name!'
' Game
Put the children in groups of four. Each group chooses
a reporter and a secretary. The groups have two minutes
for their secretaries to make a list of five words of
items they see on the poster.
Each group tries to identify the items on the list.
Group 1 begins. The reporter from Group 1 comes up to
the poster and asks the other groups to identify the
items on their list. Group 1's reporter asks Group
2 to identify item one, Group 3 to identify item two,
and Group 4 to identify item three. Each group gets
one point when they name the item.
The group with the most points at the end of the game
wins. The game ends when all the reporters have come
up to the poster once. The two extra words that each
group has listed can be used in case there is a tie.
