Motivation is central to the classroom experience. But what does it mean exactly? How do we facilitate it? This presentation will explore the notion of motivation and examine its links to emotional experience. Following this thread, the presentation will explore ways in which we can begin to engage students at an emotional level as well as encourage participants to ponder on the relevance of elements such as the quality of the teacher-student relationship and ‘classroom atmosphere’ in helping to facilitate motivation and engagement.
