 APPENDIX - DIACK'S TEST NO. 19
Start at the first word of the test, and simply ask yourself if you know the meaning of the words in order. Mark any word that you don't know, or aren't sure about, and keep going through the test until you find 10 words that you have marked in this way. Then stop. Your score for each test is the number of the last word minus ten. Diack suggests that your total vocabulary size can be estimated by multiplying your average score on a series of tests by 600.
